Chapel Hill, NC: Formerly of Lima, NY, Robert W. Abbey, age 89, died Feb. 4, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marian Concannon Abbey; his children, Robert (Vicki) Abbey, Marilyn (Lynde) Johnston, Carol (Terry) Force, Sheila (Gil) Mott and Roger (Ginny) Abbey; his grandchildren, Eric (Shannon) Abbey, Lisa (Rick) Roche, Ryan (Shannon) Johnston, Adam Johnston, Casey Johnston, Jessica (Jonathan) Nicholson, Heather (Mike) Lemieux, Curtis Force, Corey (Kristin) Force, Grace Mott, and Ashley Abbey; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Gerald (Ann) Abbey. Predeceased by his parents, Robert & Florence Abbey; and siblings, Stuart Abbey, Leland Abbey & Carmelita Reed.

Bob, a retiree from the Rochester Telephone Co./Frontier, was a WWII veteran. He was also past president of the Lima Rotary Club, was very involved in the Rotary Sunshine Camp, and a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, willingness to help, and his extraordinary ability to build or fix anything. Above all, he was proud to be an American!

A Memorial Service will take place, at the convenience of the family, in Chapel Hill, NC as well as a graveside service in Lima, NY at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 435 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620.
