Roscoe Richard Scruggs, 81, died early Tuesday afternoon at the Lincoln County Hospital following a long illness.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Ralston Chapel. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Alex Adams and I. C. Pullias officiating.
Mr. Scruggs was a farmer of the Henderson addition, and was a native of Lincoln County. He was a son of the late Sterling and Mary Mullins Scruggs, and was a member of the Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ida Wallace; five daughters, Mrs. Nellie Henderson, Mrs. Lillian Fultz, Mrs. Stacey Bell, and Mrs. Gerelene Hereford, all of Fayetteville, and Mrs. John Yarbrough, Detroit, Michigan; one son, Thomas R. Scruggs, Huntsville, Alabama; one brother, Claude Scruggs, Arkansas City, Kansas; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
