Martinus Johannes Nienhuis (= New house) was born in February 1888 in the country village Loppersum in the mid-northern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen. His parents are farmer Pieter Nienhuis (48 y) and Grietje Hessels. His father died in 1911 at the age of 71 years and his mother in 1900 at the age of 45 years, both in the municipality Loppersum.
Martinus died in December 1913 at the age of 25 years at Manhattan, Gallatin County, in the southwestern part of Montana, northwest of Yellowstone National Park.
There were no shipping records found concerning his emigration from the Netherlands to USA, nor a mentioning of him in US Census 1900 and 1910. 01/2013, P. Hakze.
