Clarence was the son of Peter Q. Bennett of Newry, Oxford County, Maine and Martha Ann Flint Bennett of Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire. Martha and Peter were married in 1863 in Waterford, Oxford County, Maine. Martha and Peter had four children. They were: Edgar L. Bennett was born in 1864 in Waterford, Oxford County, Maine; Zibath Mabel Bennett was born on 13 January 1869 in Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; Clarence Archibald Bennett was born in 1870 in Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; and Benjamin B. Bennett was born in 1873 in Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire.

Clarence married Elnora B. Wilson in 1896 in Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire. Elnora and Clarence had five children. They were: Clarence L. Bennett was born on 19 January 1897 in Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; Lila Bennett was born in 1898 in probably Magalloway Plantation, Oxford County, Maine; Glentwood B. Bennett was born on 07 February 1902 in probably Magalloway Plantation, Oxford County, Maine; Sybil Mary Bennett was born on 04 September 1905 in Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; and Martha Bennett was born about 1911 in probably Magalloway Plantation, Oxford County, Maine.

Note: Nora and Archie Bennett. Archie was born in Magalloway Plantation, Oxford, Maine, son of Peter and Martha Flint Bennett. He married Elnora Wilson, daughter of Joseph and Mary Wilson. They lived in what is now the Stranger property, later moving into the Joseph Wilson home. Archie and his brother, Ben, were noted guides, guiding at Flint's Camps and camps on Umbagog Lake. Nora was a good neighbor and had inherited her mother's capabilities as a practical nurse and midwife. She was a member of the Magalloway Plantation, Oxford County, Maine Church and Aziscoos Grange. Nora died in Litchfield, Kennebec County, Maine, at the home of her daughter, Sybil, on 11 January 1958. Archie died on 05 October 1968.
