Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Roberta Ruth Renner Moss, peacefully returned to our Father in Heaven, December 2, 2012, with her family gathered around her. She was born January 12, 1936 in Iola, Kansas, to Leo Moss Renner and Helen Catherine Rebecca Ray.
She was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her family was baptized in a river in Kansas. Following their conversion, the family moved to Salt Lake City. She married Robert Moss in the Salt Lake Temple on August 11, 1952. They enjoyed 60 years of life together. Her greatest loves were her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in many Church callings, in Relief Society, Primary, Young Women, and as Ward Chorister. She and her husband served three missions at Martin's Cove, and her latest mission was as an ordinance worker in the Draper, Utah, Temple.
Roberta devoted her life to rearing her five sons, and took an active interest in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an example to all who knew her. Robert and Roberta had 5 children, 25 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and two more expected in the spring. The way she lived her life reflected her testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This was especially true when it came to the love she felt for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was truly the grand matriarch of her family.
She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and three grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, and their five sons, Steven Robert (Lynette), Kenneth Bruce (Kendra), Alan Clarence (Jeanette), Bryan David, and Dennis Ray (Marilyn), two sisters (Edith and Donna) and one brother (Perry)..
Viewing will be Thursday Evening, December 6, 6:30-9:00 at the Sandy East Stake Center, 9545 South 1700 East, in Sandy, and again on Friday 10:30-11:30, prior to the funeral.. The funeral will be held at 12:00 on Friday December 7, at the same location.
Burial will be in the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery by Camp Williams. Her family wishes to thank Freedom Hospice, and her nurse, Robin, for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the missionary fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
