Lucy's siblings are: James Porter "Porter" Redick; Cleon Redick, who passed away in 1891; James Madison "Matt" Redick; Jonas Rude Redick who passed away in 1938; Millard Fillmore Redick; and Nellora Grace Redick Glover.

Lucy is the granddaughter of Cleon Redick (Reddick) and Lucy Harris and James Madison Vestal and Martha Jane English, all of Texas.

Lucy's father operated a farm, first renting, then, owning the land that encompasses from Texoma Parkway and Highway 82, in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas, to Texoma Parkway/Armstrong Avenue and Iron Ore Creek in Denison. The family grew fruits, vegetables, and cotton and were productive and successful farmers.

Lucy's father, John Harris "J.H." Redick, passed away in 1893, and he, Lucy's brother, Cleon, and her Redick grandparents are buried at Shannon Cemetery, Dripping Springs Road, Sherman.

Lucy married John Walton Ford October 11, 1899, in Denison. Their sons and daughters are: Louis Olney Ford; Glena Mary Ford; Ada Frances Ford Hodges; Raymond Redick Ford; John Dennis Ford; and Dayton Eldridge Ford.

Lucy's mother, Mary Vestal Redick, passed away in 1923 and is buried alongside Mary's Vestal parents and siblings in West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.
