Lennie received his BA Degree from Elon College in 1977, his MDiv. Degree from Duke in 1980, and earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Asbury Seminary in 1987. His pastorates were first at Fairview, then Drexal and then to Weddington where he served eighteen years before taking incapacity leave.
Lennie had a very colorful career from a hard rock band to a very effective and loved minister. He touched the lives of so many in his fairly short ministry as he was only age 60 at his passing. We give thanks for his life and his ministry.

"From Hard Rock to Solid Rock," which was published and released in the fall of 2002, is Lenny's compelling story of God's transforming grace from rock musician to United Methodist minister.
Dr. Lenny Stadler was the 1995 clergy recipient of the Denman Evangelism Award in the Western N.C. Annual Conference. On May 15, 2002, Dr. Stadler was invited to deliver the opening prayer for the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C.

They were married in 1976 and have two children; Shalen who is a graduate of Baylor University and now resides in Dallas, Texas, and LenPaul who is a student at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina.

When Lenny was appointed to Weddington in 1989, the worship attendance averaged around 120 people, with only about 55 in Sunday School. Membership was about 400 with only one part-time secretary and Lenny. Sixteen years later, worship attendance averaged over 1200, with approximately 700 people involved in small groups. Membership is now over 3100, with a full-time support staff of 18 persons. During this same time period, over 12 persons from Weddington Church have received God's call for full-time Christian ministry. Lenny left Weddington Church in the summer of 2007.
Lenny has written and published four books entitled, Where Will You Be When You Get Where You're Going?" (Bristol House, 2000), What On Earth Are You Doing For Heaven's Sake? (Bristol House, 2001), and his latest book is "What In This World Is Going On?" (Bristol House, 2004), and the newest which is Lenny's spiritual biography, Lenny's spiritual biography, "From Hard Rock to Solid Rock," which was released in November 2002. Lenny is in demand as a preacher around the country and has held over 160 revivals and campmeetings.
