Lennie received his BA Degree from Elon College in 1977, his MDiv. Degree from Duke in 1980, and earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Asbury Seminary in 1987. His pastorates were first at Fairview, then Drexal and then to Weddington where he served eighteen years before taking incapacity leave.

Lennie had a very colorful career from a hard rock band to a very effective and loved minister. He touched the lives of so many in his fairly short ministry as he was only age 60 at his passing. We give thanks for his life and his ministry.

Prior to his Christian conversion, Dr. Lenny Stadler was playing with a nationally known music group called, "Blackfoot." But his ambition left him spiritually empty, restless and hopeless. "From Hard Rock to Solid Rock," which was published and released in the fall of 2002, is Lenny's compelling story of God's transforming grace from rock musician to United Methodist minister.

Dr. Lenny Stadler was the 1995 clergy recipient of the Denman Evangelism Award in the Western N.C. Annual Conference. On May 15, 2002, Dr. Stadler was invited to deliver the opening prayer for the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C.

Powerful and straightforward, the dynamic preaching ministry of Dr. Lenny Stadler challenges Christians today to press beyond superficial religion to recover the New Testament fervor and joy of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His heart for the lost and a burning passion to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord have resulted in over 4,500 new members at Weddington. Through his ministry, at least 25 persons have received God's call to go into full-time Christian ministry.
