Ralph E. Jensen, age 101, one of Utah's oldest citizens, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 4, 1998.
The following are his words: "My name is Ralph E. Jensen, I was born in Castle Dale, Utah, on September 12, 1896, son of Bishop John Y. And Sarah Nielson Jensen. I've been a cow herder, a farmer, sheep herder, baseball player, World War I soldier, coal miner, road crew worker, auto mechanic, radio repairman, airplane mechanic, fruit farmer, lawn mower mechanic, upholster, artist, gardener and landscaper. I can fix anything but a broken heart. I raised eight children, 31 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. I got sick, I got tired, and I died."

"Survived by his wife, Irene Takis Jensen; his children, Hal (Penny) Jensen, Peggy Ann Clegg, Rosella (Jim) Bouck, LaVon Steur Young, Louise Young, Lee (Kathy) Young, Shirley Lucero, Jay (Diane) Jensen; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, one sister, his son, Gary and two grandchildren.

Funeral services held Wednesday, April 8, 1998 at 1 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary Chapel, 295 North Main where friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m and Wednesday from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
