This Is My Mom`s Mother. Wife of Marshall Bruce McNutt. Mother of Barbara Ann McNutt Ray and William Frederick McNutt. Daughter Of Fred and Amanda Ristow Henneinke. She was born and raised on a farm in rural Illinois.
My Grandma was always a great person to be around. She always excelled in the kitchen. During my younger years, I usually stayed with my grandparents a week or two during the summer. Sometimes we would visit my Grandmother`s Relatives in Illinois. It was a very memorable part of my growing up. They were always there for my Mom and Us, especially after my Dad was gone.
After my Grandfather passed away in 1986, we spent a lot more time with my Grandmother, as adjusting to his loss was hard for her. She managed fairly well until about 1992 when she began to show signs of forgetfulness. For six years my mother, myself, and a caregiver shared duties in helping my Grandmother whenever she needed it.
In 1998, because she was having difficulty doing some things for herself, she was moved to assisted living. She lived out her life there until she passed away in September 1999. While her passing might have been expected, it did not make it any less sad for her family.
