Carl August Linstrom Jr., of McBain, and formerly of Marion, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Autumnwood of McBain. He was 84.

He was born on October 20, 1929, in Muskegon, to Carl August Sr. and Nina (Stuyvenberg) Linstrom. He married Norma Jean Kelley on November 10, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nev. Carl was proud to have served his country during the Korean War. He had managed bus services in Cadillac and Arizona, and he lived in Bullhead City and worked in Las Vegas. He and his wife had owned and operated the Pleasant Ridge AFC Home in Marion for many years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of the Cadillac AMVETS and the Cadillac American Legion Post.

He is survived by his wife, Norma, of Marion; daughter, Kari (Jeff) Schonert of McBain, and granddaughter, Chelsey; daughter, Beth Ann Wearing of Muskegon; sons, Carl Linstrom (Christy) of Bradenton, Fla., Ronald Linstrom of Muskegon, Roger Linstrom of Muskegon, Tim (Kathy) Linstrom of Livonia; stepchildren, Darrell (Caroline) Kelley of Cadillac, Kevin (Tammy) Kelley of McBain, Mike (Sheila) Kelley of Kenner, La., Patricia Whittaker of Mebane, N.C.; sister, Virginia Sanderson of Muskegon; brother, Russell (Jan) Linstrom of Fullerton, Ca.; and sister-in-law, Mary Linstrom of Spring Lake. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jack Linstrom.

Carl's wishes were to be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
