Clifford Robertson Allen (1912-1978)

US Congressman. Elected to represent Tennessee’s 5th District in the United States House of Representatives to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Congressman Richard H. Fulton (who had been elected Mayor of Nashville) serving from 1975 until his death in office in 1978. He unsuccessfully sought the Governorship of Tennessee four times during his political career.
