Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He died at Bear Paw Mountain, Montana. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army in Company I, 5th U.S. Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action between October, 1876 and January 1877 at Cedar Creek, etc., Montana. His citation reads "Gallantry in action."
