US Congressman. He graduated from Simpson College Iowa, in 1874, from Parsons College Iowa, in 1875 and was elected superintendent of schools of Ringgold County in 1879. Relocating to Nebraska, he was a member of the faculty of Hastings College, (1885-93), vice president of Hastings College in 1889, president of the Nebraska State Teachers’ Association in 1890 and served as private secretary to the Governor of Nebraska, (1893-94).
