US Congressman. He graduated from the Phillips-Exeter Academy New Hapshire, in 1906; graduated from the law department Yale University in 1910, was admitted to the bar in 1911 and commenced the practice of law in Boise, Idaho. He served as Assistant Attorney General of Idaho, (1913-15) and during World War I, he served in the aviation branch of the US Navy. After the war, he continued the practice of law and was Mayor of Pocatello, Idaho, (1931-33). In 1933, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third Congress and served until his death from injuries suffered in an auto accident at age 46.
