British Prime Minister (1916 to 1922). Lloyd George entered Parliament as a Liberal in 1890. He became President of the Board of Trade in 1905; Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1908; First Minister of Munitions in 1915; Secretary of State for War 1916; Prime Minister in the wartime coalition Government 1916 to 1918; Prime Minister again 1918 to 1922; Liberal Leader 1925 to 1931, and leader of the Independent Liberals from 1931 to 1935.
