Luxembourg Royalty. Born Princess Josephine-Charlotte to King Leopold III of Belgium and his wife, Princess Astrid of Sweden, she was educated in Geneva, Switzerland. She married her cousin, Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg in 1953, and was his consort until his abdication in 2001. She was the mother of Jean's successor, Grand Duke Henri. She was well known for her Presidency of the Luxembourg's Youth Red Cross. Josephine-Charlotte died at Fischbach Castle after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
