Actress, Model. Born Brenda Stone in Memphis, Tennessee, she was Playboy Magazine's Playmate of the Month for June 1978. The daughter of a Southern Baptist church deacon, she changed her name to Gail Stanton so that she would not embarrass her father. A former high school cheerleader and homecoming queen, Stanton began her modeling career when she posed nude for Playboy Magazine's April 1977 pictorial, "The Girls of the New South." She also did promotional spots for Anheuser-Busch, was Miss Michelob in the 1980s, and a public relations worker for the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 1984, she also had a role in the comedy film, "Making The Grade." On an interesting note she also once dated the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Her later life involved doing work for charity and preventing cruelty to animals. She died from a blockage of the colon, two days after her 42nd birthday.
