Professional Football Player. For eight seasons (1963 to 1971), he played at the tackle and guard positions in the National Football League with the Dallas Cowboys. Born Anthony Fred Liscio, he attended Westinghouse High School in Pennsylvania and played collegiate football at Tulsa University. While with the Golden Hurricanes, he distinguished himself when he received all-Missouri Valley Conference status. Selected by the Green Bay Packers during the 3rd round of the 1963 NFL Draft, he ended up with the Dallas Cowboys and would go on to play in 89 career regular season games. Along with Ralph Neely, Liscio provided valuable protection and blocking for quarterbacks Don Meredith and Roger Staubach. He contributed to Dallas' reaching of the NFL Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers in 1967, for which became known as the "Ice Bowl". He experienced a Super Bowl run in 1970, of which resulted in a loss to the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl V in 1971. The following season, he contributed to the Cowboys' capturing of Super Bowl VI in 1972. He retired after that game and went on to a career in commercial real estate. He was inducted into the Tulsa University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004. In 2012, he suffered a heart attack while attending a Dallas Cowboys' training camp session. Liscio died of complications from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
