Born Virginia Pound, her father was the proprietor of a company which made women's hats, his business was ruined during the "Great Depression." She initiated her career in entertainment as a singer who performed under the name Ginger Pound with the Roger Pryor Band. She was discovered by Hollywood talent scouts while working as a fashion model and this led to her film debut in the picture "Hold 'Em Navy" (1937). Following this, she appeared in a wide range of films of which include "Red River Range" (1938), which starred John Wayne, the Buster Keaton short "Pest from the West" (1939) and "The Man They Could Not Hang" (1939), which starred Boris Karloff. Additionally, she co-starred in a series of "Three Stooges" pictures for which include "Oily to Bed, Oily to Rise" (1939), "Three Sappy People" (1939), "You Natzy Spy!" (1940) and "Rockin' Thru the Rockies" (1940). By the mid 1940s, she had changed her name to Adrian Booth and went on to appear in roughly another two dozen films before retiring from the industry during the early 1950s.
