Actor. A prolific actor of television, he will best be remembered for his role as 'Captain Apollo' in the original "Battlestar Galactica" science fiction television series. His career started in 1971 with a stint on the daytime soap-opera 'All My Children' as Philip Brent and would go on to appear in several more TV series such as 'Alias Smith and Jones', 'Room 222', 'Kung Fu', 'Medical Center', 'The Rookies' and 'Streets of San Francisco' before landing the starring role on 'Battlestar Galactica' during the 1978-1979 season. He would appear as the same character in the film version in 1978 as well. Among other TV series and made-for-TV movies he would appear in were 'CHiPs', 'Fantasy Island'. 'Murder, She Wrote', 'Dynasty', 'Riptide', 'Hotel' and 'Santa Barbara'. From 2004 through 2009, he would once again appear on the series 'Battlestar Glactica', this time as Tom Zarek. On film. he could be seen in 'Best Friends' (1975), 'Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen' (1981), 'Prisoners of the Lost Universe' (1983), 'Heated Vengeance' (1985), 'Party Line' (1989), 'Renaissance' (1994), 'The Ghost' (2001), 'The Rain Makers' (2005) and 'Alien Hunger' (2014). His producing credits include 'Galacticon', 'Who the Frak' and 'Dead by Friday'. Hatch's last acting roles were in 2017's 'Diminuendo' and 'The Dragons of Melgor'.
