Painter. Born in Covent Garden, London, he studied at Shipley's Drawing School and at the Royal Academy. He eloped to Ireland with the wife of the painter Gresse, and while in Dublin painted portraits as well as executing an interior of the Irish House of Commons. He is well-known today for "The London Cries", a series of London street scenes.
