Pioneer Sportswoman, Writer. She was born in Rome of Spanish parents as Elía María González-Álvarez y López-Chicheri. At the age of eleven, she got her first trophy in ice skating and at the age of 14, her first tennis championship. She was in the finals of Wimbledon during 1926, 1927 and 1928. In 1929, she won in Wimbledon in the category of doubles. Also, she worked as journalist for the Daily Mail of London and wrote books with a mixture of feminism and religiosity such as "Plenitud," "Tierra Extraña" and "Ideario de una Beata Atípica." She died in Madrid, Spain.
