Professional Baseball player. He starred in the Cuban League as a first baseman for over a dozen years, beginning in 1901. He made his debut for the San Francisco club in 1901, and led the league in hitting, batting .454, as the club went 11-7. By 190, he was playing for the Habana club, and again led the league in hitting at .330. While playing for Club Fe, he topped the league in doubles in 1906 and 1908, and led in triples inn 1907. By 1910, he had moved to the Almendares club, and won the batting title with a .408 average, and also led the league in hits. He would end his career in 1914, playing in one final game. He was selected to the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame in 1943, along with Heliodoro Hidalgo and Luis Padrón.
