Roman Catholic Saint. He was made a Cardinal at age 22 by his uncle, Pope Pius IV. Shortly afterwards he was made Archbishop of Milan, and is best remembered for his work amongst the poor, especially during 1576 when Milan was struck by the plague. He spared no thought for his own health and sort accomodation for the sick and assisted in the burial of the dead. He was canonized in 1st November 1610, and his feast is celebrated on the 4th of November. He is the patron Saint of stomach diseases.
