Auto Racing Champion. A former car salesman, he began racing professionally in 1919, always driving Alfa Romeos. He won the Italian Grand Prix in 1924 and the European Grand Prix in 1925. Ascari was killed in a crash while competing in the French Grand Prix in July 1925. His son was auto racing legend Alberto Ascari, and the two are buried together.
