Reynistaðakirkjugarður ("Reynistaðir church cemetery") is located in north central Iceland (the Norðurland vestra region) in a rural area called Reynistaður. The Reynistaðir Church ("Reynistaðakirkja" in Icelandic) is in Reynistaður, a town and farm in Glaumbæjarprestakalli ("Glaumbær parish") in Skagafjarðarprófastsdóm ("Skagafjarðar federation of parishes") and a former monastery west of Héraðsvatna 10 km south of Saudarkrokur. The peculiarities of the church at Reynistad, which is built of timber, are that the pulpit is over the altar and only one of 5 churches in Iceland like this. The current church was built in the years 1868-1869 by Magnús Árnason. This church is one of the oldest wooden churches in Skagafjörður. The church has many interesting items including a clock from 1743.
