Zapallar is a quaint, but up-scaled, Chilean seaside resort town established in the late 1800s. The town is located a two-hour drive northwest from Santiago, the nation's capital. The cemetery land was donated by a frequent visitor and landowner, Carlos Ossandon Guzman in 1936 and is located within the view of the rocky cliffs, the beach and the Pacific Ocean. The sandy cemetery grounds has tightly placed plots with red brick boarders, many white Christian crosses, and grave markers made of a mixture using sea shells. It is located between the Spas of Zapallar and Papudo. The name in English is "Cemetery of the Spa of Zapallar." There is a parking lot for cars at the front gate and to the left is a chapel.
