This is just to inform those memorials I have been indexing several cemeteries. Generally FG policy is that you shouldn't do anything to any markers if they aren't related to you. Therefore I only brush off what I can to make it visible to photograph. If you don't like how photos look, you can always request to retake them or to remove them BUT PLEASE ASK NICELY as I am doing this as volunteer and I usually photograph one or two sections at a time depending on the size of cemetery. I strongly believe in adding GPS and adding plot information where I can find. Due to photographing entire section, it is impossible to know specific plot information so I usually add section number or letter to the memorial. Some cemeteries have information online which can be helpful while others don't.

So far I have indexed those cemeteries:
*St Mary's in Elyria which I completed in early 2023
*Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria which I completed in late 2023
*CrownHill in Twinsburg along with couple other volunteered, completed earlier this year.
*Resthaven in Avon
*All Saints in Northfield
*Whitehaven in Mayfield Heights
*Lagrange Cemetery
*Roselawn in Solon, mostly done
*Evergreen in Westlake
*Knollwood in Mayfield Heights
*Calvary in Lorain
*Evergreen in Streetsboro
*Aurora in Aurora
*Elmhurst in Avon
*Ridge Hill in Amherst
*Elmwood in Lorain
*St Joseph in Amherst completed in middle of 2023

March 2024 update:
Due to foot injury that occurred recently, I can't walk through cemeteries for next few weeks per doctors order to keep off foot as much as I can.

Update as of Jan 2024:
*I want to say many thanks to anyone who fulfilled my photo requests. They are so much appreciated!

*And for those that I fulfilled, if you sent me message to thank me and I haven't replied back... I would like to say you are more than welcome! I'm just happy to find them as I walk through cemeteries.

*When I first started doing this, I thought I would just add photos to existing memorials, but it was an eye opener that there were so so many that didn't have memorials yet. And I know there are so much more out there.
At first I would take pic and upload or create new memorial or adding GPS while I stand near the headstone/marker. However due to my chronic migraine and hot weather I couldn't do that so I had to snap those photos then look up when I am at home to see what was needed etc.
So yes I'm very aware that I can use app to add GPS without adding pictures, but sometimes it is not doable if you aren't able to stand at cemetery for HOURS so adding photos from your phone at your own pace is much easier and it works.
If you disagree, take it up with FG staff, that is what they are for. I do not have time to bicker back and forth when I'm doing this on my own time and all that.

I have been using Find A Grave for many years but joined member couple months ago.

Because of others taking pictures of my relatives from other states I'm grateful for that. And I want to give back to community by attempting to take pictures and create memorials if not existed yet so others can have same opportunity of discovering their families from distance.

FYI If I send edit suggestions, it is mainly they are my family and very rarely non-family memorials unless I'm at the cemetery and I see information that needs to be added, that is pretty much it (usually at Ohio cemeteries in Northeastern portion). But 98% of time those edit suggestions are sent that are my family.

If there is any memorial that you would like to have in your management that is not family then I'm more than happy to transfer them to you. I just want to help out by adding memorials that didn't exist yet at nearby cemeteries or in any towns that I'm visiting.
