Aug. 5, 1862 1stlt. served with Battery A at battles of Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville, Va. and Gettysburg, Pa. July 3, 1863 wounded and brevet capt., U. S. Army for Gettysburg, Pa. with Battery M at battles of Franklin and Nashville, Tenn. March 13, 1865 brevet maj., U. S. Army for Franklin, Tenn.
