John G. Bushey was born in Wellsville, Pennsylvania on June 5, 1872. He was united in marriage Jan. 16, 1896 at Idaville, Pennsylvania to Miss Sarah Weigle. Three daughters were born to this union; Emma, Nina and Marie. Marie preceded her father in death passing away in July of 1925.
In 1898 the Busheys moved to Waynesboro, Pennsylvania where he was a machinist for the Geiser Manufacturing Company until 1912 when the family moved to Richmond, Texas where he engaged in farming for five years.
In 1917 Mr. Bushey filed on a homestead in the Dry Creek community where he had since resided.
Surviving are his widow and two daughters: Mrs. Emma Elder of Keeline and Mrs. Nina Park of Monmouth, Oregon. Also surviving are three granddaughters and three grandsons.
