He was born on Nov. 11, 1930 in Potomac to David and Iva Schwartz Coplea. He married Delores Wagner on June 4, 1955, in Buckley. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Coplea of Urbana and two sisters, Lela Barringer of Paxton and Shirley Lawson of Groton, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and seven brothers.
He served in the U.S. Army.
