He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in Bellveille, Il. He served as a board member of Church Emergency Services of New Athens, New Athens Senior Club, and the New Athens Hall of Fame. Buzzy was a former honoree as Rotary Citizen of the Year and was a recipeint of the Freeburg Masonic Lodge #48 Community Builders Award.
Buzzy is survived by brothers; Dorrel "Whitey" Herzog (Mary Lou)of St. Louis, MO., Therron Herman Herzog of Scottsdale, AZ., and very special friends; Dennis and Barb Schatte and Dean and Marilyn Schatte and their families; nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew.
