Earl W. Tobeck, age 79 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 1:22 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. Mr. Tobeck worked in Civil Service at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois for thirty years.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Paris, Illinois. While living in Loda, Illinois, he was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, in which he held several offices, was a charter member and was accredited with having fifty years of perfect attendance in the Loda, Illinois Lions Club, was on the Village of Loda Town Board, and was a volunteer and Trustee for the Loda Fire Department.

Mr. Tobeck also served as Boy Scout Leader for Troop 32 in Paxton, Illinois, was a former Scout Master, was a driver for Good Samaritan Campus in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, helped with Lutheran brail work in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and was member of the Paris, Illinois Lions Club.

Earl was born April 17, 1932 to the late Richard and Else (Niemann) Tobeck. He married Delores A. (Schaumburg) Tobeck May 3, 1957 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley, Illinois and she survives.

Other survivors include one son Wayne Tobeck of Mahomet, Illinois, one daughter Deanna Tobeck of Champaign, Illinois, two granddaughters Nicole and Ashley Tobeck, both of Mahomet, Illinois, and one sister Evelyn Smieles of Texas. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon and Ronald Tobeck.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 in Grace Lutheran Church, Paris, Illinois with Rev. Ryan Fehrmann officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Loda, Illinois or Paris, Illinois Lions Clubs, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church, or the charity of the donor's choice.
