Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 23 Apr 1868 p2: "DIED---In Foxcroft, April 5, Eben L. Jennison, aged 11 years 1 month 18 days, only son of the late John C. and Mrs. Cordelia Jennison.
Eben was a boy of unusual goodness of heart and life; conscientiously honest where most boys would fail; tender, affectionate and grateful towards all whose kindness he experienced. A profane oath was revolting and shocking to his feelings. He loved the Sabbath School and its lessons; loved to think of his father who gave his life for the country in the late war as living in Heaven; and himself loving Jesus he expected soon to be with him; was not afraid to die; and though cut off from the sports and amusements of childhood, and the last year of his life one of the greatest sufferers, yet he bore it all with a more than manly patience and resignation.
Thus are the choicest flowers plucked away; but Jesus takes them to higher, happier climes."
