George Louis Herbig, operator of Herbig's Marathon Service Station at Texas and Burnett, died at 9:45 a.m. yesterday in St. Joseph Infirmary. Herbig, 38, suffered a stroke Thursday at the service station. He lived at 3705 Stanton Boulevard. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Progress Masonic Lodge, and was a Shriner and member of Scottish Rite Temple. He also was a member of Louisville Post 5636, Veterans of Foreign Wars Amvets Post, and the American Legion. Survivors are his wife.,Mrs. Douglas Oreane Vogt Herbig; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Herbig; a son, George Douglas Herbig: three sisters, Mrs. Elenora E. Crain, Mrs. Dorothy Herber, and Mrs. Virginia Ann Snuff, and two brothers, Charles W. Herbig, Belfast, Maine, and Leonard R. Herbig. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home. 1201 E. Oak. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
