Gold Star Mother Dies At 87 Years
Sadie B. Anderson Passes at Home Of Daughter Here
Mrs. Sadie Brown Anderson, president of the Lodi district for the past 27 years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B.W. Thomas, 713 West Elm street, at an early hour yesterday morning.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Virginia, June 17, 1852, and moved with her parents in 1855 to Birmingham, Iowa, where she was married February 10 1870 to Dr. William H. Anderson, a veteran of the Civil War. They later lived in North Carolina for a number of years. Soon after the death of her husband in 1912 she moved to Lodi to be near her oldest daughter, Mrs. C.L. Boynton.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by one brother, D.W. Brown of New London, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Sadie B. Creath of Glendale. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. S.J. Booth of Tuolumne and Mrs. B. W. Thomas of Lodi and four sos who reside in Southern California. She was the grandmother of Gladys, Amy, Charles, Linn and Lawrence Boynton, all of Lodi.
She was a Gold Star Mother, her youngest son, John G. Anderson, having died in France in 1918. She was a charter member of Lodi Unit No. 22, American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of Hartford Post Women's Relief Corps for many years.
