Mary Mae Strumfa, daughter of Anton and Helen Hanzlick, was born May 22, 1896 at Belleville. She departed this life July 28, 1972 after a two week hospitalization at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 6 days.
She received her education at the Willow Dale School. On Feb. 11, 1920 she was united in marriage to Rudolph Strumfa and two girls were born. The Strumfa family lived on the old Hanzlick farm until moving to Belleville in 1949. She was a member of the Cheerful Cub.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers. Those who survive are: her husband of the home, daughters, Helen Couch of Topeka, Delphine and husband, Lloyd McKinley and one great-grandson, Dustin McKinley, one sister, Anna Brzon and one brother, Charley Hanzlick all of Belleville.
Services were conducted July 30 from Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart- Funeral Home with minister Maurice Graham. Burial was in the Belleville cemetery.
