William Christen Stinemates was born 25 Sep 1860, the son of Geo W. and Charlotte Stinemates. With them, he labored on the homestead, helping to carve a home from the wilderness until on 15 Oct 1893, he was married to Emma M. Barrington. Since that time they have made their home on a farm adjoining his father's homestead, where he died 9 Jan 1930, at the age of 70 years, three months, 14 days.

To them were born give children: Charles F. and Eunice (Mrs H.H. Nelson) of Waupaca; Edna (Mrs Arthur Follett) of Wakesha; Mrs Bernice Barnhart and Carlisle, at home.

Mr Stinemates was an exemplary citizen, a most devoted husband, and father, a kind neighbor, giving of his best to any work entrusted to him. He was a member of the M.W.A. and was president of the Cemetery Association since 1895. For several years he served faithfully on the school and town boards and in many neighboring activities.

Always industrious, he strove untiringly with his helpmate to give his family the advantages of an education and rewarded by their sincere devotion.

The memory of his unselfish, kindly life will be cherished by many outside the inner circle of the bereaved ones.

Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn his passing, seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs E.A. Ham of Waupaca; two brothers, ALbert of Waupaca and Minor of Moscow, ID. Another brother, Edgar, passed away 20 years ago.

The funeral was held at the home Sunday, 2pm. Rev J.H. Lane of Kaukauna officiating. Interment was in Crystal Lake Cemetery.

The pall bearers were: William Millius, Clint Harman, Ray Rhode, Iving Faragen, Iner Jenson, Einter Hanson.

Songs were rendered by a male quartet composed of L.F. Shoemaker, L.W. Lowe, Charles Solle, and Sam Kratz, with Miss Laura Shoemaker at the organ.
