As of May 25, 2015, the cemetery is beautifully landscaped and maintained. The remnants of a stone wall are still there, but there is no fence around the cemetery. Standing in the cemetery, you can easily see the "big house," approximately two backyards away. This seems to be the way that many family cemeteries are configured-they are on a family farm or property, not too far from the house.
John Herr, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth Whayne Simcoe Herr, are buried here, as is their daughter, Emily Herr Oldham. John and Elizabeth's headstones are in good condition, but Emily's is badly faded. There are two other small headstones in the row where Emily's is located, but they are too faded to read at all. There are also nine other headstones here. They are labeled: Unknown/Grave 1/Rudy Cemetery and so on through Unknown/Grave 9/Rudy Cemetery.
The nine boxes of bones now buried in this Herr-Rudy cemetery contain the bones which were dug up when Westport Road was widened, and are believed to be the bones of George Vulcan Rudy and his children, Emily Rudy and James M. Rudy. (George Vulcan Rudy's wife, Eliza Rudy's, casket and remains were dug up when Westport Road was further widened, but they have been reburied elsewhere).
